United Way Richmond City Centre Avenues of Change is an innovative project that aims to reduce child vulnerability in the city centre and ensure more kids start school ready to succeed.
The project implements two action strategies designed to support:
1 families with children 0-6 years to connect with and learn from community services and each other
2 children to experience consistently nurturing and stimulating relationships with their parents and caregivers.
United Way City Centre Avenues of Change Offers:
Neighbourhood Family Connectors - For parents and / or caregivers who are interested in learning about services and programs available to support young children and families and share this information with other parents. The objective is to foster a culture of parents supporting parents.
Community Gatherings - Fun events and gatherings to help parents meet fellow parents and neighbours in the Richmond City Centre neighbourhood.
Learn and Share Events - Learn and share what you need to nurture your child's healthy development and meet other parents. Professionals in the community speak to parents during Learn and Share events throughout the year. Click here for the upcoming event.
Focus Groups - For parents and / or caregivers with children who live in apartments in the Richmond City Centre neighbourhood. These Focus Groups offer the opportunity for parents to talk about their experiences, needs and challenges raising children while living in an apartment.
