Touchstone is a non-profit community based social service agency. We have been providing services to Richmond and nearby areas since 1983.

Our services have primarily focused on preserving and enhancing family relationships. Through qualified staff, we offer a wide variety of professional services to the community.

Stressed Teens

Family Preservation & Family Reunification Program Services

The Spring 2021 Stressed Teens Group will begin at the beginning of April, 2021.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will be continue to provide the group through an online platform.   The group will run on Tuesdays from 3:30-5 pm, for 8 consecutive weeks, from approximately April 6 to May 25.   Time and day may be flexible based on client need during the interview process.  Stressed Teens will run through the ZOOM platform.   

Touchstone Family Association’s Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction for Teens (MBSR-T) program for youth ages 13-19 is a no-cost group for adolescents who are struggling with stress, anxiety, anger, and/or needing emotional regulation. This program utilizes mindfulness and CBT in a group setting to teach self-regulation and coping skills to teenagers.  Referrals are currently being accepted by filling out a referral form, this group is open to any youth residing in Richmond.  Once a referral is received, we will contact the youth directly to set up a virtual interview with them prior to the group start date. Our Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction for Teens program will help teens 13-19 years of age learn simple yet effective tools to manage stress and anxiety.  In this eight week class you will learn mindfulness techniques to intentionally focus awareness and observation of your emotions and behavaiours from moment to moment. We focus on learning how we manifest stress and how it resonates in our behaviours.  We help participants develop a toolbox of positive coping skills to take you through life in a less reactive , more responsive way. The goal of this program is to learn to increase happiness, improve concentration and creativity, learn to emotionally regulate, improve satisfactions of relationship and better understand self.
