The "Schools Out" Leadership Skills group (LSG) is a 10 session group over 5 weeks in designated elementary schools and is part of the United Way School's Out initiative aimed at delivering after school programming for children in Grades 5,6 & 7. This afterschool group fosters the positive growth and well-being  of students to aid in social and emotional development with a focus on restorative circles, along with physical activity, games and community projects 


The Leadership Skills Group fosters the positive growth and well-being of students by giving them opportunities to: 

  • Aid their social and emotional development
  • Find inspiration in learning
  • Explore their creativity 
  • Have fun while also getting fit 

Students will participate in:

  • A Restorative Circle, where they can build positive relationships with others and learn social and emotional skills
  • Projects that spark interest and promote academic learning
  • Activities that allow them to express their creativity
  • Games and exercises that promote fun and fitness
  • A community project that benefits their school or neighborhood

 

School's Out Leadership Skills Group - Summer Edition! 

 

With generous support from United Way British Columbia, Touchstone is pleased to offer a summer extension of the School’s Out Leadership Skills Group. This program provides children who participated during the school year with the opportunity to stay connected and continue building skills over the summer, supporting a smooth transition back to school in the fall.

The program features a variety of hands-on activities and experiences designed to build confidence, strengthen leadership skills, and inspire participants in a fun and supportive environment.
