The Building Safer Communities program aims to prevent at-risk young people, between the ages of 12 and 24, from becoming gang involved or vulnerable to gangs.
Touchstone Family Association, in collaboration with the City of Richmond, offers participants with opportunities for clinical counselling, mentorship, social belonging, community connections, self expression, recreational activities, and life skills building.
Through established Micro Hubs and outreach support, young people also have access to a variety of group workshops and workplace readiness funding. It is an area of focus to provide vulnerable young people with an accessible, safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment and to help them reflect on their current lifestyle and guide them down a better road so they can thrive within their community.
This program encourages referrals from community professionals, family members, and young individuals seeking support within the City of Richmond. There are no costs associated with this program.
