The Future Leaders Program provides youth in Grades 10–12 with meaningful work experience, leadership development, mentorship, networking opportunities, and wraparound supports. The program empowers youth to explore their potential, build skills for the future, and create their own paths to success while making meaningful contributions to their communities.

Future Leaders is a five-session group facilitated by Touchstone Family Association staff. The program prepares youth for employment and post-secondary education by focusing on four key areas:

  • Financial Literacy: Developing practical financial skills, including opening bank accounts, understanding taxes, saving, budgeting, and learning about student loans.
  • Skill Development: Strengthening critical thinking, problem-solving, and other skills that support personal, academic, and employment success.
  • Network Support: Connecting with mentors, identifying individual strengths and skills, exploring employment opportunities, and navigating post-secondary applications.
  • Work Experience: Gaining hands-on volunteer experience while contributing to the Richmond community.

Upon completing the group, youth will receive support to connect with a volunteer opportunity that aligns with their interests and allows them to make a positive contribution to their community.

The Future Leaders: Working in Social Services group is funded by United Way British Columbia and facilitated by Touchstone Family Association.
